CBD For sleep

CBD or cannabidiol is a compound that is used to help relax a person, with a bunch of studies being done on the medicinal benefits, along with the uses. One big part of this, is sleep, and it’s been a major focus. Here, we’ll go over CBD for sleep, if it helps, and the outcome of this. 

How much Sleep do we Need 

According to a study conducted through the National Sleep Foundation, the average is 7-9 hours for bodies to function correctly. However, most of us don’t get that much. About a third of Americans don’t deal with sleep well, and they have insomnia too, but CBD consumption could be the answer needed for sleep as well.

Can CBD really change things? While there haven’t been scientific studies on this, the research that’s currently out there does prove that CBD may help with sleep, promoting REM sleep to help with cell regeneration, repair your tissues, bones, and also aids with memory and your immune system. 

Researchers still look into whether or not CBD is good for sleep, and if it’s something that’s mostly good because of the pain-relieving properties that come with this. Some studies also looked at the different effects of CBD on sleep, and the relation that the consumption method has. Those strains too that also contain what’s called myrcene is another big part of it. The experts are still looking to see if CBD is good for sleep and that the myrcene content is the main player in this, or if it’s both 

The main idea, however, is that CBD when consumed is something that a lot of f users benefit from, and some of the research involving sleep did say that a lot of the commonly cited compounds also improve the sleeping patterns of many. 

The Association Between CBD and Sleep 

Some do believe that CBD doesn’t impact sleep directly, since it may just be treating stress, pain, anxiety, and the like, and that improves the sleep patterns. According to one study that was done over 30 days, it was found that about 70% of the people had better sleeping scores, and almost all of them had their anxiety levels majorly dropped. 

The study also looked at how it benefits sleep patterns. But as we mentioned, it’s not totally clear if this is benefitting because of the CBD on sleep itself, or if the reduced anxiety helps. It also aids with chronic illnesses, so if you do mitigate the effects of chronic illness, it can possibly help you sleep better. 



CBD dosage and sleep 

The amount of CBD you should take does depend on your tolerance. For example, those lower dosages of CBD that are below 100 mg usually tend to stimulate you, making you be awake for a bit longer. It’s good for those that do suffer from disorders of the circadian rhythm, but high dosages over 300 mg are great for those who want to have sound sleep, and it’s good for those who have REM behavior problems, where you tend to flail and move about during sleep. 



For those that suffer from insomnia, the correct dosage is something that you should consider when you’re trying to combat sleep. What about consumption? The best way to take this s through flower that’s because you can take a lot of it quite quickly, and you’ll be able to get the benefits that you need right away. It’s something that you should also at some point talk to doctors as well about to make sure that you’re getting the right strain for your issues.

Sleep is something that we usually don’t get enough of. A lot of people don’t even get 7 hours, and a third of Americans do have insomnia, so this is a major problem. People try to use therapy, medications with different side effects, and other means, but one thing that can actually help as a natural sleep aid, is cannabis. Finally, there is wedding cake, which is a good one, but it does come with the munchies as a side effect, so be forewarned. This is a cross between GSC mixed with cherry pie to offer a relaxing, calming element to your body, and makes you feel nice and relaxed as well, no matter what it may cause for you. These strains are all great for sleep and are worth looking into if you want something relaxing for the body, and for the mind as well for your own needs.
